WiFi 6E - everything you need to know about the new standard
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise announces readiness for premium Wi-Fi 6E standard
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise - a leading manufacturer of networks, communications and cloud solutions for the digital age, expands its range of Wi-Fi products with the OmniAccess Stellar 14xx series of Wi-Fi 6E access points, which, in addition to the existing 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency spectrum, also use the 6 GHz range, which allows to increase the total number of available channels by a total of about 3 times.
In 2022-2023 Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, whose solutions are represented in the Baltics by Adventus Solutions, launched new Wi-Fi 6E AP1451, AP1431, AP1411 access points for sale in the professional equipment segment.
Wi-Fi 6E offers many benefits, however the most significant are:
1. Wi-Fi 6E expands the spectrum in the 6 GHz range, which provides a significantly higher number of channels and, accordingly, gives access to a larger number of users
2. Gigabit speed, extremely short signal delays, high data capacity
3. Support for new applications with 8K Ultra HD video, augmented and virtual reality
4. Improved performance in very dense user environments by allowing a large number of clients to connect to a single access point at the same time
5. Ready to support significant growth in the number of IoT devices.
Wi-Fi 6E usage
With the growing number of high-bandwidth, low-latency applications (augmented/virtual reality, 4K/8K Ultra-HD video, and medical IoT), 6 GHz Wi-Fi now offers 7 ultra-wide 160 MHz channels for improved performance. Public venues and environments crowded with users will be the first to greatly benefit from improved Wi-Fi access and appreciate a significant increase in quality.
Based on a shared resource WLAN management architecture, the OmniAccess Stellar solution does not require a physical centralized controller, while providing high performance with maximum scalability, easy installation and use.
In countries where Wi-Fi 6E is approved, customers can now take advantage of one of the largest offers of unlicensed spectrum that improves the performance of next-generation apps on Wi-Fi 6E-enabled devices.
Wi-Fi 6/6E will be especially suitable for those industries where there is a high demand for high data throughput, such as airports, higher education institutions, healthcare, smart cities, etc. – wherever you need better Wi-Fi network performance.

When to start upgrading your network?
Most companies plan to upgrade their Wi-Fi infrastructure to Wi-Fi 6/6E every 4-5 years, some will start the transition earlier. We predict that within the next 24 months, most companies will have some of their infrastructure components running on this latest technology.
Given that network upgrades don't happen as fast as replacing personal devices, now might be the best time to start planning to upgrade the rest of your network infrastructure to Wi-Fi 6/6E before your network becomes overloaded.
📈 If you're wondering when to upgrade your network, the answer is now! As upgrades don't happen overnight, it's crucial to plan ahead and prepare your infrastructure for Wi-Fi 6/6E.
